Mix plenty of enthusiastic athletic trainers with the wonderful charm of San Antonio, Texas and you have the recipe for an awesome show.
We showcased all our products, and, while our new Recovery received plenty of attention, it was the Shuttle Balance that stole the show.
It happens every time. Everyone has to stop and see how this unique machine works. Many couldn't help but hop on and test their proprioceptive skills. Those with the best balance made it through the perturbation therapy with only mild shock and awe. From there, we did our best to challenge them by having them toss a medicine ball or balance on one foot - even lower themselves into a Piriformis Stretch while maintaining a "quiet" board.
One Balance owner said he works with gymnasts having them do handstands on the Balance to rehab their shoulders. Curiously, nobody at the show wanted to try that protocol...
There was great fun to be had by all, but I think Jessica Stanley, assistant athletic trainer at the University of Tulsa, had the greatest time.
She won the free Ipod Nano in our Experience Shuttle contest.
Congratulations Jessica!!!
