It is amazing to think that a person could learn a brand new sport and in four short years start breaking world records....
Well, Ursula Grobler is doing it!
If you're not familiar with Ursula's rapid rise to success, please see why we named her one of our Fascinating Five for 2009.
Ursula just set a new world's record in the Lightweight Women 19-29 division of indoor rowing - and she did it by a full two seconds. This qualifies her to compete in the World Indoor Rowing Championships in Boston on February 14th.
Ursula also sent in her citizenship papers and we all hope the bureaucracy moves quickly so she can join the American team at the 2010 World Championships in New Zealand. All of these are stepping stones towards her ultimate goal of rowing in the 2012 London Olympics.
Congratulations, Ursula, on another exciting achievement!
