When a physical therapist uses the Shuttle Balance for athletes and non-athletes, how do they quantitatively record improvements in their patients?

"Quantitative" measurements
To answer Mr. Kutler's question, we "quantitatively" measure progress on our Shuttle Balance in two different ways. The first being time and the second being difficulty level. An example of time is how long can a patient stand in tandem with no hands on the Shuttle Balance before they have to grab the rails. Can they do it for 5 seconds, 10 seconds, etc. Another measurement of progress is the progression in difficulty level. We will start with a patient balancing in a bilateral stance. We will the progress them into tandem and then unilateral. We will also increase the difficulty by perturbance or having them close their eyes. Either way, we are able to determine if they are progressing and what our next step will be.
