THIS WEEK'S WILD, WEIRD, AND WONDERFUL....

1. For biking enthusiasts: This is why you should always wear a helmet... and why you should think twice about biking in the African Safari.

1. What's up Doc? Apparently, a lot of their dander determining if physical therapists should be called "doctor".

3. Jerry Rice is rooting for Wes Welker and was rehabbed by a very sharp physical therapist.

(Lisa Giannone of Active Care was featured in Sports Illustrated after successfully rehabilitating Jerry Rice. She works with all sorts of professional athletes, including dancers from the San Francisco Ballet. What is so intriguing with Lisa's approach to rehabilitation is her determined effort to discover a patient's true strength in a weak or injured muscle/joint. She uses her Shuttle 2000-1 in very subtle ways to both discover and strengthen her patients)

4. A recent study shows that laughing gives you a higher pain threshold. It must work... cuz we just read where President Roosevelt was shot during a campaign. With the bullet still in his chest, he went ahead and delivered his speech.

5. Here's why our kids are fat....

6. The history of sports medicine... as told through a catcher's mask. (From the folks at Haaaaaarvard)

7. Finally, here’s a feel-good movie coming to a screen near you... and you thought nuns and basketball don’t mix.
